Delta Interconnect manufacture solar string combiner box (SCB) or string monitoring box (SMB) designed and manufactured for Utility or large commercial Photovoltaic based generation systems. It is installed between the PV modules and the Inverter, providing protection and monitoring to ensure the availability of the strings and to maximize generation.
For the purpose of monitoring the array performance the strings are measured by use of current sensors, i.e. either Shunt or Hall Effect. Apart from current measurement the total bus voltage and power generated is monitored over MODBUS protocol. Further for improving the efficiencies in O & M activities it can facilitate the status of the disconnector, surge protection, fuses and the internal temperature of the combiner box. It also has features of incorporating measurement of external module temperature sensors. It comes with three mode of communication media, Twisted pair, Fibre optics and Wireless.
